Ingredients
- 1 cup (about 120g) whole blanched almonds
- 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons (25g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Slice Almonds. Using a sharp knife or mandoline, thinly slice the blanched almonds, aiming for 1-2mm thickness. Place in a medium bowl.
- Step 2: Prepare Coating. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Step 3: Coat Almonds. Pour the butter mixture over the sliced almonds and toss gently until every slice is evenly coated.
- Step 4: Arrange on Baking Sheet. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange almond slices in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Step 5: Bake. Bake for 10-18 minutes, flipping each chip halfway through, until golden brown and crisp. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Step 6: Cool. Let the almond chips cool completely on the baking sheet to achieve maximum crispness. Serve and enjoy!
