  • Total Time: 0 minute
  • Yield: 4-6 servings

Description

Transform humble Brussels sprouts into an irresistible side dish with this easy recipe. Featuring crispy bacon, tender roasted sprouts, and a sweet, tangy balsamic glaze, it’s a flavor explosion.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs fresh Brussels sprouts
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 cup good quality balsamic vinegar (for glaze)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Trim Brussels sprouts and halve any larger ones. Cut bacon into ½-inch pieces.
  • Spread bacon on a large rimmed baking sheet. Roast for 8-10 minutes, until partially crispy and fat is rendered.
  • Add Brussels sprouts to the baking sheet with bacon and rendered fat. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Toss to coat.
  • Spread sprouts and bacon in a single layer. Roast for another 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway, until sprouts are tender-crisp and bacon is fully crispy.
  • While roasting, simmer balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan for 5-7 minutes until reduced to a syrupy glaze.
  • Transfer roasted sprouts and bacon to a serving dish, drizzle with balsamic glaze, and serve immediately.
