Ingredients
- 1 tsp beetroot powder (unsweetened)
- 1 cup milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy; oat or whole milk recommended for frothing)
- 1–2 tsp maple syrup, agave, or honey (to taste)
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- Pinch of ground ginger (optional)
- Tiny pinch of cardamom (optional)
- Garnish: extra cinnamon or beetroot powder (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Create Beetroot Paste: In your mug, combine the beetroot powder with 1-2 tablespoons of cold milk. Whisk thoroughly until a smooth, lump-free paste forms. Stir in your chosen sweetener(s) and spices.
- 2. Heat Milk: Heat the remaining 1 cup of milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until hot and steaming, but not boiling (approx. 150-160°F). Alternatively, microwave in 30-second intervals until hot.
- 3. Combine & Froth: Pour the hot milk into the mug with the beetroot paste. Stir well to integrate. Use a handheld frother, automatic frother, or whisk vigorously until a good layer of froth forms.
- 4. Garnish & Serve: Optionally, dust with a tiny sprinkle of cinnamon or extra beetroot powder. Serve your delicious beetroot latte immediately and enjoy!
