Description
Craft your own creamy, dairy-free chocolate bars with this easy step-by-step recipe. Indulge in rich, balanced sweetness that melts in your mouth.
Ingredients
- 1 (13.5 oz / 400ml) can full-fat coconut milk, chilled overnight
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar (or sweetener of choice)
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-processed recommended)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of fine sea salt
Instructions
- 1. Prepare: Chill coconut milk overnight. Line a small dish (e.g., a loaf pan) with parchment paper or grease a silicone chocolate mold.
- 2. Combine Wet: Scoop out the thick coconut cream from the chilled can, discarding the watery liquid. In a saucepan over low heat, combine coconut cream, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk until sugar dissolves and mixture is warm.
- 3. Add Dry: Remove from heat. Whisk in cocoa powder and salt until completely smooth and lump-free.
- 4. Thicken: Return to very low heat. Stir constantly for 3-5 minutes until thickened to a hot fudge consistency. Do not boil.
- 5. Pour & Chill: Pour into prepared mold/dish. Tap to remove air bubbles. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours, or until firm.
- 6. Enjoy: Demold and enjoy your homemade coconut milk chocolate! Store in the refrigerator.
