Ingredients
- 1 (5 oz) can tuna in water, drained well (or 4 oz cooked, flaked salmon)
- 1/2 cup oat flour (ground rolled oats)
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
- Optional: 1/4 tsp dried catnip or 1 tsp brewer’s yeast
Instructions
- 1. Prep Ingredients & Preheat: Gather all ingredients. Drain tuna or flake salmon. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2. Mix Dough: In a medium bowl, combine drained tuna (or salmon), oat flour, beaten egg, olive oil, and any optional add-ins. Mix thoroughly until a stiff dough forms.
- 3. Form Cookies: Roll dough to 1/8-1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut into small shapes (1/2 to 1 inch) and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- 4. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and firm. For extra crispness, cool in the oven for 15-20 minutes with the door ajar.
- 5. Cool & Serve: Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, serve to your cat and store leftovers in an airtight container.
