Craft these wonderfully chewy and flavorful homemade cherry gummies with ease. They’re a perfect sweet and tart snack that’s far superior to store-bought versions.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (240ml) 100% cherry juice (tart or a blend)
- 3–4 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder (3 tablespoons for softer, 4 for firmer)
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice or 1/2 teaspoon citric acid
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine cold cherry juice and gelatin powder. Whisk thoroughly until gelatin is fully hydrated and let bloom for 5-10 minutes.
- Transfer bloomed gelatin to a small saucepan. Add granulated sugar. Heat over medium-low, stirring constantly, until sugar and gelatin are completely dissolved. Do NOT boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice or citric acid.
- Carefully pour the mixture into silicone gummy molds.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours, or until completely set and firm.
- Gently unmold the cherry gummies and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
