Ingredients
- 1 cup gluten-free pastina
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth (low sodium preferred)
- 1–2 tablespoons unsalted butter or olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, or chives for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Prepare the Broth: In a medium saucepan, bring the broth to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- 2. Add Pastina & Stir: Add the gluten-free pastina to the simmering broth. Stir constantly for the first 2-3 minutes to prevent clumping.
- 3. Cook to Al Dente: Reduce heat to low-medium and cook, stirring occasionally, for 7-10 minutes, or according to package directions, until pastina is al dente and most broth is absorbed.
- 4. Season & Finish: Remove from heat. Stir in butter or olive oil, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with optional add-ins if desired and serve hot.
