  • Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Yield: 1/2 cup (depending on thickness)

Description

Craft your own vibrant, guilt-free sprinkles using natural ingredients. This easy recipe delivers crunchy, colorful toppings perfect for any sweet treat without artificial dyes or refined sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered erythritol or xylitol
  • 1–2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk (divided)
  • 1–2 tsp beetroot powder (for red/pink)
  • 1–2 tsp turmeric powder (for yellow)
  • 1–2 tsp spirulina powder (for green/blue)
  • 1–2 tsp purple sweet potato powder (for purple)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare: Gather all ingredients and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 2. Mix Base: In small bowls, combine 1/4 cup powdered sweetener with 1/4 tsp almond milk and a tiny drop of vanilla (if using) for each color.
  • 3. Color: Add your chosen natural color powder (e.g., 1/2 tsp beetroot powder) and mix until a stiff, pipeable paste forms. Adjust color and consistency as needed.
  • 4. Pipe: Transfer each colored paste into a piping bag with a tiny snip. Pipe thin, straight lines onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • 5. Dry: Air dry at room temperature for 12-24 hours, or bake in a 150-200°F (65-95°C) oven for 30-60 minutes until completely hard.
  • 6. Break & Store: Once fully dry, gently scrape and break the lines into sprinkle-sized pieces. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 2-3 months.
