Description

Craft incredibly rich and nutritious bone broth effortlessly in your slow cooker. This hands-off method ensures optimal flavor extraction and a deeply gelatinous texture every time.


Ingredients

  • 23 lbs mixed bones (beef marrow bones, knuckle bones, chicken feet, chicken backs)
  • 1 large onion, roughly chopped
  • 23 carrots, roughly chopped
  • 23 celery stalks, roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 23 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • Filtered water to cover

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare Bones: (Optional for beef/large bones) Roast bones at 400°F (200°C) for 30-40 minutes until browned.
  • 2. Combine Ingredients: Place bones, chopped vegetables, bay leaves, and peppercorns in the slow cooker.
  • 3. Add Liquid: Pour in apple cider vinegar, then cover with filtered water, leaving 1-2 inches of headspace.
  • 4. Cook Low & Slow: Cook on the LOW setting for 12-24 hours for chicken, or 24-48 hours for beef bones.
  • 5. Strain & Cool: Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve. Let cool completely before transferring to airtight containers for refrigeration or freezing.
