Description
Whip up these nourishing lactation bites to support milk supply and energy for busy parents. They’re quick to make, packed with goodness, and wonderfully satisfying.
Ingredients
- 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (certified gluten-free if needed)
- 1/2 cup ground flaxseed meal
- 1/4 cup brewer’s yeast (food grade)
- 1 cup natural nut butter (peanut, almond, or sunflower seed)
- 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1–2 tablespoons milk or water (as needed for consistency)
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or chopped dried fruit (optional flavor enhancer)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, flaxseed meal, and brewer’s yeast. If using, add any dry flavor enhancers like cinnamon. Stir well.
- Step 2: Add the nut butter, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract (if using) to the dry ingredients.
- Step 3: Mix thoroughly using a spoon or your hands until well combined. If the mixture is too dry to form a ball, add milk or water one tablespoon at a time until it reaches a pliable, slightly sticky consistency.
- Step 4: If desired, fold in mini chocolate chips or dried fruit.
- Step 5: Scoop out about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of the mixture and roll them into firm balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate.
- Step 6: Refrigerate the lactation bites for at least 30 minutes to allow them to firm up before serving.
- Step 7: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
