Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs (680g) lean ground turkey (93% lean or higher)
- 1 tbsp dried sage
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp light brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp unsweetened applesauce (optional, for extra moisture)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, gently combine ground turkey, sage, thyme, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, black pepper, brown sugar, and breadcrumbs. Mix with hands until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Add apple cider vinegar and unsweetened applesauce (if using) and mix just until incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions. Form each portion into a 1/2-inch thick patty or a 3-4 inch link.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place patties/links on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) is reached.
- Serve immediately or store for later.
