  • 1/4 cup (50g) packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine pumpkin puree, milk, brown sugar, and maple syrup. Whisk until smooth.
  • Stir in pumpkin pie spice and vanilla extract.
  • Heat over medium-low heat, bringing to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently.
  • Continue to simmer for 5-8 minutes, or until the sauce thickens to coat the back of a spoon.
  • Remove from heat and let cool completely.
