  • Total Time: 23 minute
  • Yield: 4 servings

Description

Warm, tender apples infused with comforting pumpkin pie spice and a hint of sweetness. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy evening treat.

Ingredients

  • 34 medium apples (Fuji, Honeycrisp, Gala, Granny Smith)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or ghee, coconut oil)
  • 23 tablespoons brown sugar (or maple syrup, honey)
  • 12 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 cup water (or apple cider, orange juice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  • Wash, peel (optional), core, and slice apples into 1/4-inch wedges or 1/2-inch dice.
  • Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Add apples and sauté for 3-5 minutes until slightly softened.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice over apples. Stir to coat.
  • Pour in water and reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for 5-8 minutes, or until apples are fork-tender.
  • Uncover, increase heat slightly if needed to thicken sauce. Stir in vanilla extract and lemon juice (if using). Serve warm.
